Guess you didn't read my other post to you... I'm not going to bear with you, I'm going to appreciate your concise expression of views that largely correspond with my own.

I think somewhere in my current talking jag -- insomnia does this to me, so I'm glad it's so rare for me -- I wrote about this as it related to my late cat. How many people can say that they acted out transference with their pets? I'm pretty special that way, huh?Yes, I think we do. I'm not sure we seek it out because we feel comfortable with it, though. I'm more inclined to think it's recreating the old relationship so that we can Do It Right This Time, combined with a high level of tolerance for being treated badly.
But you know what? I think we arrived at the same destination via different routes -- we may not be standing on the same spot, but we're close enough to shake hands...
