Hi all,
I wonder if I could have your assistance for a moment. Tradition has it that when you get drunk, you feel rubbish the following day - especially in the morning. AKA "The hangover". Fine: you feel sick with a headache for a day, vow never to drink again and do it all again the following weekend =0)I find that something more unpleasant happens to me. Say I get drunk on Fri&Sat (the way it's normally done here in the UK), I'll feel "fuzzy-headed" on Sat and Sun but mood-wise absolutely fine. My problems occurr on Mon, Tues and Weds where some weeks my mood and outlook are quite strongly depressed.
Now, with a history of 8 years of major depression, a reaction to lots of booze might be expected as alcohol is a depressant, BUT:
- why does my mood and thinking react 36->72 hours after drinking instead of the next day?
- does anyone else encounter this delayed depression from large amounts of alcohol?
- maybe it's just Autumn kicking in and I'm depressing myself about going to work in the cold?I dunno. Any comments/suggestions are welcome. Please no "well stop drinking then" comments as I already recognise that as an option =0)
TIA,
pk
