Hey Katy,
How are things going? Have the meds helped with your anxiety? Just curious why your doctor upped the Zoloft, were you having depression? For me, SSRI's seem to make my anxiety worse. Although, if I become depressed again, I would try another one again (a different one than the Lexapro). As we all know, every medication is different and affects people differently! It's so hard not to try to tell someone else what to do with meds based on your own experiences : )
I don't remember if I told you, but my pdoc switched me to Trileptal about a week and a half ago. So far, I've been feeling great. No anxiety and in a good mood. I really hope this lasts.
I know what you mean about friends - some are more understanding than others. Right after I was diagnosed and still in a manic state, I told this guy about it (we used to date a long time ago) and he was saying how he didn't think medication was a good idea! People tend to base their opinions on their own experiences. If you haven't gone through anything where you needed medication, why would you think other people do? I went a long time thinking the same thing. Although, I never would have been rude enough to say that to someone (I just thought I was better than them for not needing it, lol). Think on the bright side, maybe that guy will go through something later on his life and then he'll realize how stupid he was. Just kidding - I don't wish this on anyone. It's just like anything else though, if we could all be overweight for a day or have bad acne for a day or whatever, we would be much more understanding of other people.
I hope you're doing well : ) Keep in touch.
