Since then, I've heard that progesterone can actually aggravate depression. I can't remember if they were natural or synthetic, but my guess is synthetic since they were prescribed by my ob/gyn who wasn't into natural treatments.

I've heard that the synthetic ones can aggrivate depression but that the natural ones do not.

Actually I have the attacks because of PMS and was then prescribed Paxil. I took 10 mg for a few weeks but then stopped because I was not under any medical supervision. I just started taking it again two nights ago and have been ok since then. I am hoping to be placed on progesterone but I am currently between doctors as I'm about to move. So I am just using the paxil to tie me over until I can see someone about the progesterone.
