Ok, deep breaths. It took a lot of courage for you to be that honest, and now you are probably just feeling kind of raw and vulnerable, and that's seems quite normal.
Hmm, from what you wrote, it does sound like he was more freaked out by the general idea of any patient seeing the pic rather than afraid of you seeing it specifically. He could have patients who are dealing with a lot of rage and perhaps psychotic and is more afraid of them than of someone like you.
What did you mean by he pulled the BPD thing out of his pocket? BiPolarDisorder or Borderline, and how did he use that in the convo?
It is so surprising that people are still so naive about what is out there on the internet! Hello, if you don't want your name and photo on the internet, don't post jpegs of your family, spouse, dogs, etc.
I really think, from what you wrote, that he is freaked out by the idea, not by you. My pdoc's address was on some paperwork I had from my ins co, and he noted that it bothered him that it was there. He said, "I don't care if you see it, but I wouldn't want all my patients to see it. " So maybe it is that kind of thing, where he was shocked by any patient getting it, not so much by you Karen having it.
So, what is this thing about his wife that he says stands out? A rather large hunch back? An eye in the center of her forehead?
Finally, if he wants to be all honest and self-disclosing about his life, then why can't you be honest about what you found on google? Hey, he started it. You did nothing wrong. Maybe just give it time to breathe and settle in, in his mind.
