If you think Dean Ornish's approach is extreme, then you might not like mine, but I'll tell you a little about it if you're interested. I lost about 60 pounds in the last 2 years eating a raw plant-based diet, meaning I only eat raw, uncooked fruits, vegetables, nuts and seeds. Almost everything I eat comes from the produce department or the bulk bins where I buy seeds and nuts. I rarely buy anything that's packaged. Personally, I love this eating lifestyle. I've never felt better or looked better. My skin looks great, I'm at my ideal weight and people tell me I look 15-20 years younger. It has been a drastic lifestyle change, but I've made the change gradually. If you're interested in learning more, some good books are "Conscious Eating" by Gabriel Cousins or "Eating for Beauty" by David Wolfe. An approach which is not quite as drastic is described in a book by Harvey Diamond called "Fit for Life".
