There most definitely is a relationship between Mg and Ca, although I think it is a complex interaction. In general, I think they might be antagonistic. Mg gives me a sense of calmess and feeling brighter. Ca makes my depression much worse within an hour of taking 1000mg. I tried repeating the experiment by rechallenging with Ca. Same results. I steer clear of Ca megadoses now.
