I think Alexs block is WAY too long.
I think that is a flaw in your formula.
We are NOT numbers. We are HUMAN beings.
We are NOT labels. We are PEOPLE.
Alex was CLEARLY having a rough time. And yes, perhaps a babblebreak might be a good thing in some ways.....
But 9 weeks seems too long.
Excessively harsh.
And there's the flaw.....
Mebbe blocks should not escalate in that way.
Maybe people should be allowed to come back sooner, and if they still not in a place where they can interact well on the boards, they could then be blocked again.
Mebbe its a matter of the block length escalating too fast?
And this might be an instance where the voluntary block system could work well.
If a poster knew they were getting wound up or into a bad place babblewise, they could make a break. I think it would be an excellent idea. I like it better all the time.
I think its important that once you have blocked yourself, that you can't do an end run and unblock yourself.
