I am lifting my please-do-not-post-to-me request temporarily – for this thread, if that is permissible – to get your answer to some questions. However, if you’re going to answer my questions *only* with your own questions, do not expect a response from me. And if I do not respond, please do not assume that I concede any point you’re trying to make. What I’m trying to do is give you an opportunity to state, for the record, why you make so many requests for determinations on whether or not what other people have written is within the guidelines of the forum. If you do decide to include questions with your answers, and you really do want my answers, please do not put them in a multiple-choice format.
Do you make these requests because you find the forum’s guidelines difficult to understand? Do you make these requests because you find their enforcement (for lack of a better word) confusing? Do you believe these guidelines to be too far-reaching? Do you believe them to be arbitrary? Do you believe them not to be conducive to good mental health? Do you believe them to be unsupportive? Do you believe the administrator (or moderator if you wish) uses them as an outlet for his own agenda?
When other Babblers question a post, most usually question the post’s source. When others question a post, they are usually active in that post’s thread, or that part of an ongoing thread. Why do you bring so many requests (dozens and dozens more than others do, as far as I can see) before Administration, without first asking the posters what they mean? Why do you question at Admin so many posts in threads that you are not actively participating in? Why do you question here so many posts that are not about you, and are not in response to something you have said?
Finally, do you know that your requests lead some to feel accused or put down? That your requests lead some to feel that you’ve jumped to conclusions about them? That the way you make your requests – parsing snippets of quotes into confusing (IMO) formats – seems to exaggerate or over-generalize what you’re questioning? That to some of us, your multiple-choice method of responding to others does not seem to show an interest in what others really think? (Note that I am not asking why you think your posts aren’t offensive, but whether or not you know that they have been and continue to be offensive to more than a few people.)
