hey phil.
yes.they are still to date, of ALL i've been through THE scariest experiences.
they are so terrifying sometimes. many times i 'feel' that i have stopped breathing (even if i haven't) so then on top of the 'person/thing' standing next to me i have the fear that i can't breathe (or something is sitting on chest/sucking my air..etc)to be honest, its probably been about 6 months since i've had an episode.
i can only assume (for me) that my level of stress or repressed feelings exacerbate them, or changing (ending/beginning etc) and AAP.
like i said earlier, it seemed that during the few years of my trauma work, it would happen several times weekly. So on top of everything else, this of course created havoc on my internal sleep cycles. even With sleep meds often i couldn't get to sleep Becausei was expecting to have one of these. Most of my were hypnogogic, i only had a handful of hypnopomic episodes (morning-wake up, ones)
*********
my only thought is that maybe upping Seroquel is activating this in you.
hopefully it will end in a couple weeks. until then do your best to self soothe at night. try to maintain normal bed-time (read with light on all night if need to) but don't stay up and watch tv, computeretc. this will just mess you up i the long run.**********
and even though I've experienced them since i was about 12.
they don't always occur frequently. some years maybe 1 or 2 times. others100's.BEST Wishes Phil
