yeah, I was thinking of you when I said "reductionism" actually... because who knows what indirect effects kappa-agonism has.. like when 5-HT2c antagonism releases more dopamine in the prefrontal cortex upon stimulation (mirtazapine, agomelatine,..)..
did you read my post above that I wrote to you? feel free to comment on it.. i.e., do! ;-)

as for sigma-receptor antidepressants (in fact, sigma-receptors aren't opioid receptors but I guess that doesn't matter), there is already one, it's called opipramole.. I think it's not available in the US though.. it's also used for anxiety, where it was shown to be only insignificantly less effective than alprazolam..
