My pdoc started me on Effexor XR and Topamax last week. So far I've had no problems with the Effexor. Been taking 25 mg of the Topamax, doing great.
Then Saturday night I up the dosage to 50 mg per docs orders. Sunday was a nightmare - literally. I slept all day and woke up screaming. I felt like I was sleep walking all day. I also had numbness in my lips and hands. Today (Monday) is only slightly better - no more numbness and still feel out of it, but not as much. At this point, I'm ready to just get off this drug. I am supposed to keep upping the drug to 100 mg. I should have done that over the course of this past week but I can't even imagine what I would have been like if I had.
I know if I were to stick it out I would probably get thru these effects and be ok...but in the meantime...I just want to feel good. I have been in a pretty deep depression for 6 months now and I just want to get back to normal...and this drug is not a step in the right direction for me. And then I think of the possible side effects...is it really worth it? I just want to be myself.Any advice?
