What a way you have with words! Thank you for sharing your thoughts with us.
I'm particularly struck by your description of depression as a beast which sits across the room from you, because I see both my depression and my anorexia as monsters which want to live, so they fight all my efforts to send them packing. It doesn't always help, but it sometimes allows me the distance I need to cope with them. It's interesting to know that others see the beasts as being somehow separate from them, too.
