The first time I was put on Nardil back in 2007, I do a lot a research about whey protein powder to be able to do a "strict" diet with them (I don't recommand it...I just can loose weight with very strcit diet since I have my gastric by-pass...)and try to found some informations about the amino acids, how they work and what they do exactly in the body...what process is involve in the digestion of them...things like that and I give up about the whey protein diet...I was afraid...
Since all the people who "WAS" suppose to know more things about protein powder in a combination with a MAOI told me to not do that...I was just afraid to try...
Now, I don't believe a lot of things about the necessity of a tyramine free diet, especially the one they give to the patients at the drugstore...I mean, if you don't eat OLD cheese and left over meat (very old), I don't think you can have a hypertensive crisis...You just have to be logical and stop believe everyone who don't know more things about Maoi's than yourself (Pharmacists, younger psychiatrist or younger doctor, all of this just ADD EXTRA anxiety in the life of someone who have to take a MAOI...and that's not good...
Well...that's my point of view...people do what they want...for what I know and what I learn over the years, it's not dangerous to have a shake of protein...for diet or just for as an extra help for muscle growing....Especially if you are like me and don't eat a lot of meat or fish and want a good source of protein to make sure you're body don't lack of them...
