Yeah, a holistic model rather than an atomistic / reductionist model.

Just as in other aspects of adult life, one must make decisions along the way as to which offerings are worth keeping and which are best rejected.Yes. Though... Treatments should be careful not to portray falsehoods as facts...

Spirituality can be the single most powerful drive for change. It therefore becomes an important goal for some to nurture their spiritual nature in order that the whole being be brought into a state of sobriety.
Hmm.
Holistic models usually do incorporate an aspect of spirituality, yes.But should spiritual development be considered a requisite for recovering from alchoholism?
How about a requisite for recovering from schizophrenia?
How about a requisite for recovering from a broken leg?> Is there a God?
> I think that to even feel the need to ask this question betrays man's spiritual nature. I'll leave it to a higher power to provide the answer.?
I think we ask this question because we acquire the concept of god in the normal course of development much as we acquire the concepts of 'tooth fairy' and 'santa claus' and 'unicorn' etc etc.
At some point we are compelled (?) to ask
Does the tooth fairy exist???
Does that show something about the spiritual nature of human beings?
I think...
Tis best not to conflate spirituality with god / higher power...
