I have a 14 yo girl who has been going on 17 for about 10 years. I tend to call her "Miss Thang" which she is not ammused by. I love her dearly and she knows it, but she also know how to "work it" to get her way. She knows I am the disciplinarian, so she goes to daddy for getting her way. She's a social butterfly and can't be bothered with daily chores. Yes it's hard. Very Hard. I tend to lean on her for emotional support, she gives it freely. I love her dearly.
I also have a 12yo son who has discovered girls and has a poster of Jessica Simpson in his closet and I have caught him with scantilly clad pictures, and worse before. This was hard for a mother. Very Hard. I love him for his wonderful sense of humor. It get's me through.
My 10 yo soon to be 11 yo is her onder sister revisited. Only she's a yeller, fighter, coniver, and all around snot. But yes I love her dearly too. Sometimes it's just hard to like her.
Does it get better? I'm sure not.
