Oh, one woman cine, it does feel very much like it has degenerated into a war of semantics.

I truly wonder what is behind the "you wrote, I wrote, you assumed, you generalized" back and forth we seem to have gotten caught up in.

I have been horribly abused and that shades my perceptions and beliefs. Why do you feel so strongly that you must champion the mental health profession and challenge so vociferiously any statements you feel cast them in an unkind light? What is it about your background that makes you take this position? Are you working in the field and so feel personally attacked? I am genuinely curious.

Quibbling about things like the difference between assessment and diagnosis is not relevant to the actual points being made and jumping on any little discrepancy does shut down discussion quickly. It is silencing.
