As an aside, I've been using CBT techniques to help cope with depression since 1982. It doesn't reduce the depression per se, but it does mitigate the damage the depression produces and helps to preserve self-esteem.

Depression is a liar. I've learned to recognize the lies and replace them cognitively with positive thoughts through reality testing.
