Marking time

The trustees liked the degreed guy (and from what I've heard he really would be pretty good). They are checking his references (how long does it take to check references??). They were going to offer him the job and THEN let staff talk to him - but I think that they have been convinced that it makes more sense for us to talk to him before they make him the offer.

I would still love the job. I'm having fun doing the job right now. But they are going to offer it to him (reasonably so). My turn will come. He won't stay long. And by the time he is ready to go, I'll have my MLIS, and I'll be a shoein.

I started my first class for my MLIS last night (first class in 23 years). It went really well. The others in the class are very much like me. It will be fine.

So I'm just waiting, marking time, until they manage to make a decision.

I have a lot of support from the staff and the patrons. I do feel loved there. Even when I don't get the job, I'll still feel loved.
