Your turn will absolutely come. And you seem to ready for it. It is amazing how things just seem to fall into place sometimes.
I'm sure you will be nice and professional during the interview process. Just remember it is about him, not comparative between you two. Do you have a list of questions? I think you should ask him what his favorite book is. I think it says a lot about a person.
