Thanks all. Credit goes to my therapist. Without him I would be frantically trying to impress the selection committee and the trustees and trying to get a bunch of patrons and volunteers to start a campaign for me.
Staff gets to interview the candidate on Monday night (although the chairs of the selection committee and the trustees will be present, too - to make sure that we behave ourselves and don't scare the candidate away). I spent the whole night "interviewing" - didn't make for great sleep.
Yesterday I needed to reassure two ardent supporters of mine that it will be OK if this other guy gets the job. They are very loyal to me - and that does feel really good.
My turn will come.
