It's not okay to dump a patient without warning and without proper referral to someone else. It sounds very irresponsible. The therapist should have let you know that it wasn't going the way she thought it should be going and attempted to redirect it. I suppose there are forms of CBT where they give you an assignment and if you refuse to do it, they can say that you're noncompliant and terminate on that basis. But this doesn't sound like that.
