I don't think that you are being ridiculous at all!! I would be very upset if my therapist did that. I think I would try and gather my courage and ask about it if I were you.
I should have thought that he should rather have not commented at all. What was his motive I wonder? Maybe he was just looking for something "nice" to say and couldn't think of anything else. But definitely ask him. It might be perfectly innocent and then you'll feel all better! Please let us know if you ask him. Good luck!
