Yeah, it makes eating very complicated. I say do all those things, but I've only done those things for 2 months and then stopped. My electronic balance is crappy and takes really expensive batteries that die really quickly. LOL
I'm probably not the best person to go for diet advice, I haven't lost anything. Although, when I was doing all that measuring, I did lose weight consistently.
Maybe do the measuring stuff for a while, like one month so you can learn how to guesstimate. After that just guessitmate your servings. I find the measuring stuff is a real eye opener.
I just prefer obsessively measuring everything, but I think there are other methods. I've heard of the portion control method, where you learn what a portion is by comparing food to a deck of cards, a tennis ball, etc.
I've found that Weight Watchers really works. You just have to make sure to count points. If you don't want to pay tons of money, I suggest you pay for the membership and for one meeting, get all the info and materials you need to start and then do it on your own. You can pay for other meetings to get more help.
