hi monu:
do you have somebody to exercise with? making a promise to another person to meet them at the gym is harder to break than a promise to yourself. (the lady at work said she wouldn't have gone to the gym yesterday if i hadn't twisted her arm ... she had promised me a free pass the week before).
is there something at the gym that you like? a class or something that you can make? having a scheduled time helps too (but see my first point about having a deal with a friend to attend)
personally i don't have a gym membership. i mostly exercise by riding my bike to and from work. now motivation is easy to exercise - i have to pay money (for the bus or for parking) if i don't exercise, and i want to save money, so on the bike i go!!! if you live within walking/biking distance of work i highly recommend this plan.
otherwise you could do rewards/treats(i'll see this movie on the weekend if i go 3 times this week, etc) but i would just buy myself the treat anyway so i don't know if this really works.
but teamwork is the best motivator. journaling and keeping yourself honest by writing it down helps too.
good luck!
