JYL,
You wrote,[...I can't understand why [you] {always try to get} the (good people) blocked...].
It is not my intention to try to get someone blocked. I do not understand what your use of the phrase, {[good] people}, in this context referrs to. This thread concerns IMO all the posters here ,for if one could use the idiom in question as being acceptable here, I feel that others could,,IMO, be hurt emotionally and psychologically by being a recipiant of the idiom.
Let us look at the idiom as used in this context and then replace dancingstar's name with another. Could the others be acceptable here?
[...Please, please take {anything} dancingstar says with a grain of salt...]
Now the replacement:
[..Please , please take anything Dr. Hsiung says with a grain of salt...]
or,
[...Please, please take anything Geoge W. Bush says with a grain of salt...
or
[...Please. please take anything Rabbi Kushner says with a grain of salt...]
[...Please, please take anything Lou says with a grain of salt...]
[..Please, please take anything{Dr. Hsiung's guests experts} with a grain of salt...]
or,
[...Please, please take anythig gardenergirl says with a grain of salt...]
[...Please,please take anything JYL says with a grain of salt...].
[...Please, please take anything Dinah says with a grain of salt...].
{...Please, please take anything{your choice here} says with a grain of salt....].
You wrote,[...you are becomming a {hinder}...].
It is not my intention to be a {hinder}. The administartive board is estblished IMO to discuss the aspects of he board. I feel that a determination that I am requesting from Dr. Hsiung as to the acceptability or not here of the use of the idiom in its context could have the potential to benifit the forum.
You wrote,[...what do you really want from this site...?].
I am going to write about that in a separate thread.
You wrote,[...I always read your posts...]. Could you clarify why you [always} read {my} posts?
Lou
