Lamotrigine is one drug in particular that is problematic when it comes to generic products. It is a common complaint that they do not produce equal results. I'm not sure why. I get Lamictal name-brand because I appealed to the insurance company stating that I had tried two different generics that I did not respond to adequately. Teva was better than Mylan. When I switched to Teva from Lamictal, it may have taken as long as a week to relapse. I relapsed more quickly with Mylan. If you can't find another generic that works, and are prevented from taking the Lamictal name brand, I would consider taking Teva, but increasing the dosage.
