I'm aware that the Luvox have a lot of drug interractions BUT my doctor take the time to read them to see if I'm taking another drug who can have an interaction with the Luvox and no meds I take will interact with the Luvox...
I think the interactions are somewhat overrated... The Luvox have a lot of interractions with other drugs but they are mostly not dangerous... With the exception of the melatonine who is increase by 300 fold I think and the caffeine who is about 8 times higher in the blood, the other interractions are not major...
Also I think a lot of other psych meds like the maoi's Nardil, Parnate and some antipsychotic drugs who prolong the QT interval of the heart, are by far more dangerous than the Luvox...
I almost die from an hypertensive crisis without eating foods high in tyramine when I was on the Parnate and that's what I call a dangerous med!!! Got just in time to the ER to have IV blood pressure meds to reduce my blood pressure and it happen 3 times while I was on the Parnate... I know that those meds like the Nardil or the Parnate can be like a lifesaver for a lot of people's here but me I continue to think that they are dangerous... You don't mess with your heart!!! It's because of what happen with the Parnate that I start having somatic anxiety, all heart related anxiety, worries and almost obsession about dying from a heart attack... I blame the Parnate only, not the Nardil since on the Nardil I didn't had an hypertensive crisis, in fact my blood pressure was too low and had severe orthostaric hypotension... Not relieve by some florinef... But that's Nother story...
