> Vincent is was so weird sat there and actually waited for the side effect and never came. The next morning the doc raised it from 50 to l00mg Bid. Got to 250mg and felt good. Why I stopped was the dumb doc that trial of celexa he wanted. He made me stop it. Dumb doc. Phillipa
You was at the hospital when it happen no? I always feel more confident and less anxious when i'm at the hospital, I think it's because I know that many Doctors are around me so if something really bad happen to me, they will be able to save me...
I had the same experience with the Celexa Phillipa, back in the summer of 1999 my Doctor put me again on the Paxil cause my social anxiety was pretty bad at the time, I had to go to a summer school to finish one course of mathematics that I really needed to pass to enter into the college program of computer sciences... I had only 2 months to do that course of mathematics, if I failed it, I will not be able to attempt the college and do the computer sciences program...
Anyway, was on the Paxil in april 1999 and go see a PDoc in july, right in the middle of my summer class... He took me off the Paxil cause I had major weight gain from it, I told him that I was feeling good on the Paxil and that the weight gain was not a problem for me but he said that he had to play safe with me and remove the Paxil cause my weight was over 400 pounds and he was worried a lot about it...
So he extend his hands in a BIG BOX full of meds samples, the Celexa was new in the Canada in 1999 and he give to me 4 boxes of 28 pills of 20 mg... He said start taking 20 mg a day and increase to 40 mg after 2 weeks... It was in july remember, as soon as I start the Celexa I felt very bad, very tired and not able to get up in the morning. All my anxiety was back and worse... I call the PDoc after 2 weeks and told him that I didn't do well on the Celexa and he said increase the dose to 40 mg and that's what I do... I start feeling even worse, wasn't able to go out alone, not able to take the bus, had insomnia, was very lethargic, had no energy and tired all the time, I completely stop going to my summer class because I wasn't able to go there alone...
After 1 month I call the PDoc and I told him that the Celexa was just a shitty drug... Of course I fail my summer class and wasn't able to start the college in the program that I wanted to attempt... The stupid PDoc just switch me to the Zoloft, who was even worse than the Celexa... After 2 months on the Zoloft my social phobia was so bad, I was afraid to just go buy a pack of cigarettes at the convenience store because I fear that I will need to talk with the store clerk!!!
I stop the Zoloft cold turkey and call my Doc who put me again on low dose of Paxil and felt very good again, the real me...
So long short story, newer drugs are not better than older ones... and by the way I gain more weight on the Celexa and Zoloft than on the Paxil!!! All the SSRI's do that to me anyway... and having more weight is better than not being able to get out of the house no?...
