Hi everyone, will not write again all my story but last time I saw my PDoc he start me on lamictal and I had rash from it even at low dose so I had to stop it.
It's a PDoc that I saw for an evaluation, I can't see him again but my Doc can call him and do the follow up with the meds with him...
I saw my family Doc today and he read the PDoc report and saw the other meds the PDoc recommend if the lamictal fail...
Like I was thinking, the PDoc suggest the depakote or the Luvox.
Since the PDoc point out that some ssri did wok in the past for my anxiety, he strongly suggest to my family Doc to RX some Luvox at a very low dose since I'm med sensitive, 5 mg to increase very slowly, the goal is to reach a therapeutic dose over a 6 to 12 months period...
So my family Doc RX the Luvox today... He have only 3 patients on the Luvox, but all of them only react well to the Luvox and not from the other ssri's...
My family Doc don't seem to be worried about the meds interractions or the strong sigma 1 agonist effect of the Luvox. Also he point out that the side effects profile is not worse than the Paxil or the lexapro, just saying that the Luvox didn't had the luck to have a lot of clinical trails to prove that it was effective for other disorders like panic disorder or depression in the USA...
I know that Phillipa here take the Luvox....I know she did well on it... But I want other users opinions... Especially for the agitation and increase anxiety type of side effects... Also cardiovascular side effects...
With my own experience, from all the ssri's that I took, the Paxil was the only one to work but had major weight gain from it and was always tired... The worse for the side effects was the lexapro and the Prozac who trigger panic attacks especially when I reach the 30 mg dose... The Zoloft also trigger panic attacks and make my social phobia worse... So overall I need to try the Luvox and see how I react to it...and I need some good or bad reviews from other users on babble...
Also my family Doc switch me from the propranolol beta blocker to the bisoprolol... I told him that I have difficulty to breath recently and he didn't like it at all... Also he think that the extreme fatigue I have is from the propranolol... He love the bisoprolol and take it himself since he had some coronary artery bypass grafting years ago and was put on the bisoprolol.... I did ask to try the Coreg first or the new bystolic but he said that both have a lot more side effects than the bisoprolol and will not help with my tachycardia who is trigger by my severe anxiety... So he RX half a 5 mg pill of bisoprolol a day insistead of 30 mg of propranolol a day... He said that its better than the propranolol with less side effects... Especially for the respiratory system... I did try the bisoprolol years ago but don't remember how I react to it...
So that's the plan, Luvox 5 mg to start and bisoprolol 2.5 mg...
I need some input for the Luvox... The pills come only into 50 mg dose, cutting it in 10 pieces will be hard... We don't have the Luvox cr in the Canada. I think that the drug company abbot Canada make a brand name Luvox here but smaller pills are also 50 mg and generic fluvoxamine come also in 50 mg pills , no 25 mg pills...
Well need some advices and also share your experience with the Luvox... I'm sure it can't be worse than the other ssri's...
Thanks , Vincent
