Paxil did absolute wonders for my generalized anxiety disorder and depression. It dramatically reduced my anxiety in less than a week. The relief was enormous. It took a few weeks to kill the depression and restore me to a normal range of emotions and functioning. It ultimately pooped out for the depression, but I know people for whom it has worked really well long term.

Is there any reason you are still reluctant to try it given that more than one medical professional has recommended it for you? Are you concerned about side effects? I had virtually none except sedation about 4 hours after taking it (timed it for when I wanted to go to bed).

Good luck!
