Why is paxil always suggested for anxiety?

Posted by gadchik on October 31, 2011, at 10:42:11

Looking back on my biggest breakdown,I just recalled that everytime I went to the er,dr,mental health clinics, they wrote me an rx for paxil-which i inevitably threw in the trash.I thought I had heart issues and refused to believe it was anxiety, which quickly morphed into depression w/me refusing all meds, except the ativan injections they gave me in the er. Anyway, I never mentioned paxil, but it was the one they all suggested. What is it specifically about paxil that makes it so good for anxiety?
