I'm sorry to hear you're having problems, but it's refreshing to hear somebody in that situation being so forthright. I think you're probably right about developing tolerance to Lyrica over time - any drug that can compensate for another is likely to be beset by similar problems. I don't know much about Gabitril but what I have read has been mostly negative - seems to cause a lot of impairment for whatever relief it brings, you might as well try Zyprexa or something of that ilk. Nardil is GABAergic and helpful in anxiety states, so that's something to consider if you haven't taken it already.
I've been controlling my anxiety and depression with small doses of codeine since quiting benzos almost a year ago. Obviously codeine too is addictive (if not more so) and I've developed tolerance to it, so I'm going to try and taper off. I suppose the best thing in the light of all this med tolerance/poop-out lark is some sort of therapy to develop better skills in dealing with anxiety.
