I have a major problem with anxiety. Neurontin and benzos have helped, but over 5 years, I have developed a tolerance to them such that I can no longer even take a break from them. I used to be able to lower my dosage without a problem. Now I am taking, sometimes 10,000 mgs of neurontin per day.
My doctor refuses to prescribe more than 4800 mgs per day, and suggested I try lyrica instead.
He prescribed 100 mgs 3 times a day, It is not enough. Plus, I have read in the archives here that many people develop a tolerance to this drug as well. I imagine I will be one of them, based on my neurontin experience.
My doc said that if lyrica doesn't work we might try gabitril. I havent' read much good about it here...
Any input would be much appreciated.
