howdy,

I have wondered why my doctors have not discussed sleep hygiene...You know, having a routine to your sleep, going to bed at the same time, waking up same time, seven days a week. Winding down, actually doing the same things as you go to bed.

For me, this was very important, not having too much stimulation before I go to bed (no scarey movies) including having low or no lights as I got closer to bed time.

I have just recently discovered...
surprise...earplugs!

Ambien is my drug of choice for getting to sleep, for a good six hours, but, in addition to a nocturnal inhabitant, my mate wakes up very early and I toss and turn, and the benefits of the Ambien are gone, I am going to try the earplugs...

Mouse wearing bright orange earplugs tied together like Tom Hanks in Castaway..

I don't want to go down the Benedryl/ Nytol road either, that stuff does weird things to me. Is there something non addictive and effective that i could ask my doctor about ?
