150mg and higher is 'supossed' to be the effective effexor dose. I myself am not on it anymore. I started at 37.5 and went up to 75 and it turned me from being badly depressed to having constant mind torture and suicidal thoughts. But my depression is caused by accutane so I doubt such an effect would occur to most anyone. I had this worsening of depression effect from other meds as well. But none as severe as effexor. perhaps because effexor is very potent? and therefor for most others could be very effective.
