Is this an example of Effexor Withdrawal?

Posted by AnneL on August 30, 2001, at 23:55:38

I have been diligent in taking Effexor every single day. Yesterday I couldn't remember whether or not I took my meds and did not want to risk taking a double dose, so I figured it was safer to err on the side of caution and not take it. Mistake, mistake!! I felt as if I were hallucinating all night long and was trapped
and couldn't get out. Has anyone ever had this experience with missing a dose? I also wonder whether or not Klonopin taken at bedtime can cause this type of sleep pattern? I was half expecting to get vertigo or electric-type brain shocks yesterday, but that never occurred. I would imagine that it must take more than 1 missed dose to cause the "classic" withdrawal symptoms, but maybe not. Any ideas what happened to me last night? I took my meds as usual today and am hoping that I don't have a repeat of a very "psychedelic" experience. (I'am getting too old to think that this was a "cool" experience, and instead it scared the you-know-what out of me!) Thanks for your input, Anne :)
