A cult? I bet someone was referring to Princeton House. It is a sort of drop-in inpatient thing. I don't think they let you in unless you drive up in a BMW. I sneaked in through the service entrance in a Honda.
Regarding Princeton Biomedical Research / Psychiatric Centers, they are professional and screened by ethics committees. Dr. Apter and his people are top-notch. I was supposed to co-author a paper with him involving the current state of geriatric psychiatry, but my condition worsened and I had to abandon it half-way through. If I don't get a break soon, I'll end up having to include myself in the study.
I doubt it would ever be necessary for you, but should you feel the need to try some of the newer investigational drugs, they are always doing clinical studies. The program is free, including a year or so of follow-up. They are also doing quite a bit of work on Alzheimer's.
