Hi All,
Does anyone know of a good (i.e. accurate, reliable etc...) website that lists nutritional values of pretty much anything and everything we eat? When I do my own research I find a lot of variance between what's out there. Thanks!

I'd also like to find a decent Glycemic Index of foods too...just a basic, simple list...

well, a friend of mine told me about this site once. http://www.nutritiondata.com he said it was really good (he is studying to be a nutritionist, so i trust him). anyway i put it in favorites and haven't looked since, so i don't have personel experience with it. but i think it may be what you are asking for and it seems very thorough. hope this helps

Yeah I am also looking for one, but a little different I would like to find one were you can take the label on the product and enter all the ingredients found on back label, half of them you cannot understand and sometimes they label preservatives as something complicated like:
benzohyrationeszypetypeEasdizipinemonohydrate

Thanks! The link here is an alternative route into the USDA database, but it's organized in a different way so that comparisons are easier to make, IMHO.

The only quirk is that fatty acids are listed in their shorthand form, e.g. 20:5 for eicosapentaenoic acid. Also, there is no distinction made between the isomers of 18:3 (alpha-linolenic and gamma-linolenic).

I don't mean to signal my return here. I don't care for loose ends; I had intended to post to this thread some time ago, but Bob blocked me before I could.
I do miss Babble, but not enough, ya know?

Well, even if this is just a quick visit, it is good to see you. I hope you'll stay, but understand. Take care.

Hi there
This site lists some information:
www.vitalhealthzone.com/food-values/food-values.html
There is also a huge database at the US Dept of Agriculture, which you can search on:
http://www.nal.usda.gov/fnic/foodcomp/search/
Or you can download the whole database:
http://www.ars.usda.gov/Services/docs.htm?docid=10093
This page gives you choices on how to view their really comprehensive information:

Ciao
