Does anyone else have the problem of needing to sleep/nap during the day? I have to nap about 1.5 hours in the afternoon, it's like my body just crashes. I cannot stay awake during this time if I try.
I do fall asleep during the nap but I wake up spaced out rather than refreshed. Sometimes I feel worse.
Can anyone else relate? How can I get away from this habit? It really cuts into my day and there are other things I need to do.
Thank you for any thoughts.

i used to do that, but i was not on depression medication, i would wake up depressed in sorrow state. I started high dose prozac and that kinda erased it away, but still i have sluggish days even when serotonin levels are enhanced.
Do some coffee, and ... getting occupied and focused on something so much, that you don't want to take a nap. Try to intrest yourself in something, that makes you excited or intrest and use that as a form of escape rather than naps. It's hard i know, i feel that feeling that i just want to sleep, it pulls at me to just do it, because i feel i can't function without nap. I stopped naps a while ago, but intrest in something or a activity that will cancel the desire for a nap. Coffee, and that.

right now im battling depression, im on maximum dose of prozac and still ... my doctor wants me in therapy i need to do that. But right now im fighting low sluggish acitives. Even though i could benefit from this also, you find an actnivty that will replace the desire of a nap, an intrest or excitement that will keep you awake. Making you fun to stay awake

> RoslynnI have a somewhat similar problem: I spend all morning in bed, till noon or even longer. Once I get going for the day, however, I don't need any naps until I get tired at night.
Stimulants can help. I hope you get the blood pressure under control so that you can use them.

What medicines are you taking? Some can definitely cause daytime sleepiness (Nardil/Parnate for example).
