Hi folks,
Im better, im still a bit depressed from that event i just cant get out of my head.
Anyways, i take temazpeam 30mg as needed but i have noticed sometimes it doenst work. My mind keeps on racing.
One thing i have thought is i need maybe Seroquel? but the only thing is that, i have to get up early in the mornings and i dont want to feel you know.........dulled out.
Another was maybe well......... in ememgencies one time i didnt sleep for a couple of nights, they gave me something "injected" in my and said go lay down now at home, what ever it was it put me out, i had be driven home.
But mainly agaitation is my problem mixed with some thoughts, which im going to go to lithium, that should take care of it.
Seconal i know one time my doctor gave it to me for 2 days. It definently realeased agaiation, that medications was hard.
Im not having any insonmnia problems, but in the future, with this stress from collage, i may have to a couple times call in because i cant sleep.
Seroquel, and Lithium i think are the best.... but they dont help with agaiation.
But thanks, well i have been having trouble sleeping because of some emotions surge at night.

Promethazine, mirtazapine, mianserine.. They all have strong hypno-sedative properties. The last 2 are also Antidepressants.

* Opiates
* Diphenhydramine
* BenzodiazepinesDon't take any of these for more than a few days (unless you do want to go down the road of nightly sleeping benzos, which can present some difficulties). Use them to fix your rhythm. You might want to look into light therapy in the morning.

I use seroquel.. i only take about 10mg (i bite a 25 in half) It knocks me out for about 6 hours without leaving me feeling like it's still in my head. I just kept going down in dose untill i find the minimal amount that made me sleep without feeling it the next day.

Mogadon (nitrazepam) closely related to flunitrazepam (Rohypnol) but you can't get it in the US. Good hypnotic benzo. It's my first choice of drug when insomnia hits, which is quite often and it the only one that works for me

I prefer nitrazepam also.
It might be worth asking your Doctor if you can try Sonata (Zaleplon), as it has a very short half life which means you can take it twice, before you go to bed, and if you wake again and there are still 4 hours left in which you can sleep you can take another. I have heard various comment about its efficacy, as per usual from it works very well for me, to it does nothing. So I think you will just need to give each one a try in turn until you hit the one that works for you.

I see your point. It also gives me complete memory loss unlike any other benzo, I once took it during the day to see if it worked for anxiety and it wore off very suddenly and I had no idea how I got to where I was and why I was there. So I would imagine if it does not put you to sleep you could do all sorts of things and not remember.

Well, i've been on it for a months. My doctor asks how is it been working? i said fine.
You know if you sleep during the day, say when i get off from 7 hour classes, its a bit hard to sleep.
But for some reason temazepam, well it makes me "hynotic" but not going into dreamland.
This happened to me last night, i took temazepam, and then xanax. It wore off so quickly! then i just laid there hoping i would fall asleep finally i did after about an hour.
That why i think Seroquel and Lithium are good for thoughts that agiate you at night. Because Temazepam at first knocked me out, but then it just makes me "hypnotic".
I have taken Zyprexa before, and BAAM whooo i was asleep very quick, because my brain shut down. But it wasnt good the next day because i was zoned from it.
I think anyone can get resistant to any sleeping med. even the word Seconal. I was prescribed it 2 days just one time, whoa man i was so numb, very much stonger than temazpeam.
But im not having a sleeping crisis, so im going to talk to the doc about lithium at night.
This is the end of the thread.
