i live in my head a lot too.
when i realise it isn't so productive...
i do this mindfulness meditation exercise.
the point of the exercise is to focus on ONE thing with all your attention
you can even pick something in your head if you like...
or you can pick a smell
how something feels
how something looks (form and colour)
how something sounds
and if i manage to really focus all my attention on that...
i don't notice my thoughts.
