too bad you have to quit weed. i do it all the time in the interest of lowering my tolerance to the high quality buds i smoke. every 5-6 mos. or so i notice i'm smoking a little too much bud and my highs are kind of boring. when all you smoke is strains from holland and canada, and your own homemade bubble hash you're just not going to get anything stronger. quitting is quite easy when you realize that you are not actually quitting, someday you will meet your love maryjane again. just look at it as a temporary discomfort- too much of anything is bad. you have to respect the magical weed if you want to partake through your life. and after a vacation your lungs and head will thank you.
now cigs are a different story. terrible things that are totally addictive- supporting terrible people. i smoked for 30yrs. since i was ten, a pack of cigs was .65 cents when i started- 6.00 dollars when i quit. that alone was enough. never mind the coughing, i could hardly smoke a joint anymore without choking all the smoke out,
i quit by starting on wellbutrin 3 weeks before my scheduled quit day. one week before i started listening to a cd that i got from a cessation program, basically a relaxation and hyptnotizm program i listened to daily through the first month of quitting. 2 days before quit day i stocked up on candy, gum, swizzel sticks that i chewed on. you can substitute vegtables and stuff thats healthy but what the hell, your quitting cigs- how UNhealthy can you get? last day i smoked my head off, it was disgusting and that was the point. i threw out most ashtrays, and the ashtrays i kept i put candy in. i started the new day craving a cigarette of course. i recommend a replacement nicotine source such as the patch, gum, chewing tobacco, or some of the herbal remedies that contain nicotine. nicotrol inhalers and nasal spray are available by prescription. i used the nasal spray for three months, i really enjoyed the scent once i got used to the burning in my nose- it was a better delivery system of nicotine than cigarettes- and one day i just quit that and it was easy. i'
ve been off cigs for eighteen mos. now and am thrilled with the results. if you contact your local hospital they can probally direct you to a smoking cessation course that might be covered by your insurance. or call that quit smoking number that you see on tv and they will direct you. the biggest thing, once you go through all this to quit you can never smoke just one cigarrette, this is the hardest part, at least for me.
good luck, medhed.
