Of course, this is just a stepping stone. But it IS good to know how to behave around people who are very unstable to the point that they want to assault others. It's one thing to know how to survive this as a kid, and another thing to realize that as an adult, I actually AM in charge here, and that I don't have to tolerate abuse from anybody.as for academia being a sheltered existence... try to survive on 15K in Chicago with insane (I'm talking about actual Dx, here-- not colloquially) professors who control the future of your career. It made me crazy, and I'm not the only one either...
