He's seen me three times now for a total of about 40-50 mins.
First time put me back on zyprexa at lower dose but wouldn't give me AD he said because of possible adverse effect on mood. This time when i pressed him re the PD NOS. He somewhat reluctantly offers up 'obsessive neurosis' to flesh out the explanation.
Tells me quickly 'but it's not OCD'.
Funny how a google search turns entries showing it's an archaic name for OCD.
It's way off the mark. Almost as off the mark as when several years ago i was told there was only Dependent PD on my notes(different pysch). At that time i was on lithium(had been on it 20 years)and blood test forms said bipolar or schizoaffective.
Next time i had an appt which was 3 weeks later(it was a locum consultant)and questioned her i got told 'All you need to know is you have an illness with a psychotic component'.
I thought to myself 'what the expletive deleted'.I think it's true what they say about pdocs. Take 6 of them give them each the same dummy patient complete with notes and there's a good chance they'll assign 4-6 different dx.
Then you're supposed to trust them.Who would trust
half a dozen oncologists who told you that you were respectively suffering from lung, brain, stomach, and liver cancer?!
