yeah, those are really good strategies. Your pdoc sounds very clever. When I travel internationally, I usually need about 1 day per hour of time difference. Travelling to Asia is the worst- 10-14 hours difference, and it usually takes me 2 weeks to adjust. your 15 minute adjustment might take a long time though. What's your eventual goal? bed @ midnight, up at 8 am? Do you know how much sleep your body needs when it's on a regular schedule?
I use my cell phone as an alarm clock. It works really well.
Keeping normal hours will also help with your loneliness. It gets pretty quiet after midnight.
