Your mother's house sounds like my aunt's. It had been a while since her kids were little, and her house was too pretty for me to feel comfortable moving when I was little.
I'm sorry your husband wasn't feeling up to going to your Mom's. I can't imagine how difficult it must be for all of you.
We're having a quiet New Year's at home. How about you guys?
