Thanks, Sienna. This time it is so wierd. All the usual strategies come up with nothing!! I have retraced my steps, checked all my pants pockets, check the parking lot where I was parked, checked the car, looked behind, under, on, over, etc. everything at home, in the car, and at work, asked people, etc. etc. Who knows?
I had this ring that my grandmother gave me when I was 8. It was my birthstone and I needed an adjustor for the first 5 years because it was too big. But I wore it pretty consistently for the next 30 years. During that time, I lost it a number of times, each time I thought "FOR GOOD" because I couldn't find it anywhere. And guess what? It would turn up in the most unlikely places weeks, months, even as much as a year or more later! I got to feeling pretty overconfident about the ring not being able to be lost.
Then, I went to the beach for a vacation with my sister. I was putting on some sunscreen and took the ring off while I slathered. I lay down in the sun, read a while, and then went in the water, came back, etc. and then remembered the ring. We did a full out beach combing operation--all the other beach goers were helping! But we couldn't find it. That was it. The final one. Lost for good. Sigh.
Obviously, my keys are not nearly as precious. They are replaceable. It just bothers me, that's all.
