I've been pondering this for a while and I think you are right in that I shouldn't tell the instructor.

I suppose making eye contact across the room is all part of that swagger (ie self confidence ) that I should be working on.
I really appreciate your input. Believe it or not I actually have some old Mad magazines lying around somewhere in my house though I don't have a clue where they are at the moment. I should try and dig them out:)
