I took on my mum`s car a couple of years ago, but we kept it in her name as I had 'lost' my no claims bonus (it gets wiped after 3 years), and the premiums were therefore really high. However, I realised that I would only be able to re-build the no-claims by having the car in my name. Obviously this meant getting insurance (rather than being a name on my mother`s insurance), and I was extremely nervous about this. I did this through People`s Choice, and had absolutely no problem at all - even when I meade it clear that I suffered from depression and was taking medication.
